DevPluse Health Score Methodology
The DevPluse Health Score is an automated, deterministic mathematical metric scaled from 0 to 100. It quantifies the long-term maintenance viability, community traction velocity, and enterprise production-readiness of open-source developer infrastructure without subjective editorial bias or sponsored placement.
The 4 Mathematical Pillars (25 Points Each)
Measures elapsed time since the latest verified Git push to the primary branch. Stale codebases forfeit enterprise reliability.
- • Last commit ≤ 14 days: 25 pts
- • Last commit 15 – 30 days: 20 pts
- • Last commit 31 – 90 days: 15 pts
- • Last commit > 90 days: 5 pts
Evaluates total GitHub stars mass and developer adoption threshold. Large communities ensure faster bug remediation.
- • Stars ≥ 20,000: 25 pts
- • Stars 5,000 – 19,999: 22 pts
- • Stars 1,000 – 4,999: 16 pts
- • Stars < 1,000: 10 pts
Analyzes Stars-to-Forks ratio. A healthy ratio between 3:1 and 15:1 reflects real engineering contributions rather than viral bookmarking.
- • Ratio between 3.0 and 15.0: 25 pts
- • Ratio > 30.0 or < 2.0 (imbalanced): 18 pts
Scans root repository manifests for production deployment readiness.
- • Baseline technical documentation: 15 pts
- • Verified Dockerfile / Container configuration: +5 pts
- • Tested Quick-Start CLI / Package command: +5 pts
Tier Classification Thresholds
Production-ready architecture, high-frequency releases, and battle-tested container manifests.
Active growth with consistent monthly maintenance, stable APIs, and solid community backing.
Experimental release or decelerating commit velocity. Recommended for non-mission-critical environments.
